New Members Show Organizer
The role of New Members Show Organizer is performed once per year and focuses on coordinating the annual Edmonton Art Club New Members Show.
Your primary resource is the Historical Membership List, located in the Members Only section of the Edmonton Art Club website under the Historical Information tab. As new members are adjudicated into the club, their names and year of joining are automatically added to this list. Filter your document search by year joined to identify the current year’s new members.
The New Members Show is an informal exhibit that serves as part of the backdrop to the evening’s festivities, adding warmth and creative energy to our December gathering. Participants are not expected to make a formal presentation; instead, the show offers an opportunity to showcase their artwork and enjoy organic engagement with members throughout the evening.
Once you have completed your search, email each new member with an invitation to participate in the annual Merriment and Cheer Celebration held during our December meeting. Invitees may bring one to two pieces of artwork for display. Participants are responsible for their own setup and takedown and must bring their own tabletop easels.
In the weeks leading up to the event, monitor responses so you can anticipate the number of participants and plan the display layout accordingly. Be sure to inform the Social Committee in advance of the expected number of exhibitors so they can arrange for any additional tables required. On the day of the celebration, greet and direct new members, helping them find suitable display locations and ensuring the setup process runs smoothly.
