White Judy

I was born and raised in the central valley of California and have now lived in Canada over half of my life. I have been interested drawing since I was young and showed an aptitude for painting in my later teens. I have always been inspired by the beauty in the world around me and am driven to capture that in my work. I am primarily self taught and have only recently taken advantage of online opportunities to learn and have taken few classes at The Paint Spot, a local art supply shop.
During the busy years when my children were growing up I began studying photography as a quick way to capture and immerse myself in the wonder that was constantly before me. This has helped me understand composition and given me a library of reference photos that I look forward to using. Retirement has created the opportunity to return to painting and most importantly the time to develop my native ability. I am especially drawn to faces and love painting people and animals. I look forward to learning more and trying my hand at painting nature and landscape as well.
Judy currently holds the position of Critic Organizer for the Edmonton Art Club.
