Diana Panizzon

Born and raised in southern Italy our family immigrated to Canada when I was young. As a child I was inspired by the many works of Leonardo Da Vinci, and his mastery of paints.

I yearned for the ability to discover and create beauty as he did. I found that nature held and continues to hold a strong connection with my emotions, thoughts and spirituality.

As a mother watching my children grow, I became conscience of the parallel that exists between nature and children. Through the effects of time both continue to change, develop and grow; each to be appreciated for their own uniqueness.

As an artist my focus is to try and capture the uniqueness of nature with the colours it evokes and translate that into a painting. Whether I am painting a simple flower, a glowing sunset, or a gentle breeze, I try to give it the importance it deserves. This I find both challenging and rewarding.

Diana currently holds the position of Correspondence Secretary for the Edmonton Art Club.
