Debra Long
Debra Long is an emerging Edmonton-based watercolour artist whose creative journey began after a rewarding career in engineering and science. Though not formally trained in fine arts, she has developed her practice through local workshops and classes, building on a lifelong appreciation for visual detail and structure.
Drawing from her Alberta roots, Debra focuses on people and places that carry personal meaning. Her portraits often reflect quiet, introspective moments, with an emphasis on realism and mood. Working from photographic references, she uses watercolour’s luminous qualities to explore light, expression, and emotion.
Debra is also a member of the Alberta Community Art Clubs Association (ACACA), and is actively involved in group exhibitions and continues to explore new directions in her work.
