Jan Fraser is fascinated by the weather, atmosphere and textures of the prairies and expresses her feelings in watercolours and acrylics. She was encouraged to have her first showing in 1981 by her mentor, and uncle Dr. Murray MacDonald. Jan has continued to paint since then, with numerous exhibitions. Her love of the arts came through as a teacher and administrator with Edmonton Public Schools and since retiring has enjoyed more time to immerse herself in painting, volunteering as an Artist on the Ward at the University of Alberta Hospital, and travelling.
