Ruth Baker-Bailey
Learning to paint had long been a life goal. I began painting by playing with watercolour on my own. With the encouragement of friends who were experienced in painting, I eventually began to take a few courses. What a challenge that was as I had no background in fine arts.
With determination, encouragement from family and friends, and perseverance, I slowly developed my own style and confidence. After taking numerous courses, I settled into my own painting style under the guidance of artist Frances Alty-Arscott, and continued to express myself through my art.
My goal is creating work with colour, movement and line, forming something separate from myself and then setting the painting free. My paintings have found their place in homes in Canada and the United States.
