We are proud to announce our Annual Juried will be held at the NOA gallery during the month of October.

Step beyond convention and into creativity’s wild terrain. This October, the Edmonton Art Club proudly presents its annual juried exhibition, Outside the Lines, at the renowned Night of Artists Gallery. Featuring a dynamic collection of works from emerging and established artists, the show invites viewers to explore what happens when boundaries are blurred, rules are reimagined, and artistic voices speak freely.

From expressive abstraction to unexpected materials, each piece in Outside the Lines challenges the familiar and embraces the unconventional. This is not just an exhibition—it’s a celebration of risk, originality, and the courage to create without limits. Join us for an unforgettable showcase that redefines what art can be.

Artwork submitted must be completed within 2 years of the show date and must not have been shown previously in any Edmonton Art Club exhibition. The maximum number of pieces selected will depend on the quality of the work, as determined by the jury, and on the show space available. The Jury’s selection will be final. Artwork that has been juried but rejected will be eligible for submission to future shows.

JUROR'S SPOTLIGHT
Allen Ball, Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, is an accomplished contemporary visual artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, photography, screen‑based works, and public art. His extensive portfolio—ranging from conceptually driven installations to internationally exhibited projects—reflects a deep engagement with social, cultural, and political narratives. With a career marked by thoughtful inquiry and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, he brings a critically informed perspective that adds depth and clarity to this year’s adjudication, ensuring that Outside the Lines benefits from his discerning and experienced artistic insight.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Artwork Drop‑Off: Members must deliver their artwork at 12:00 pm and then exit the venue.

Adjudication Period: All members are required to remain outside the venue from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm during adjudication.

Anonymous Evaluation:
Artist signatures are concealed to ensure an unbiased review by the adjudicator.

Original Work Only:
All submitted pieces must be original creations by the participating artist.

Member Participation:
Members should expect to volunteer on site to assist with hanging and taking down artwork.

Framing Standards:
Frames must be in good condition—no scratches, dents, chips, or damage. For works behind glass, the glass must be free of scratches and marks.

Hanging Requirements:
The back of each artwork must be fitted with a secure wire hanger. Sawtooth hangers or hooks are not permitted.

Sales Option:
Artwork may be offered for sale, though this is not mandatory.

Artwork Labeling:
Each piece must have a label affixed to the back including: title, size, medium, artist’s name, and contact information.
