September 28, 29 and 30, 2018
The Orange Hub, Room #108 10045 - 156 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta
Day One - A Lot of Little Watercolour
This fun, fast-paced class is geared to beginner and experienced painters alike. If you have never painted before, you will have lots of fun learning many watercolour techniques in a no pressure setting. By painting on very small watercolour paper (2.5”x3.5”) and working in a series, you can play and learn to your heart’s content. If you have painted before, this class will help generate lots of ideas and inspire you to try things you hadn’t tried before. If you have taken this class before, this is a great review???
Day Two and Three - Draw, Design, Paint
Through a series of fun exercises, you can explore and discover your own design style! In this informative workshop, you will be working on specially prepared small canvas – perfect for fast and fun experimentation. Using references of your choice, you will design your artwork, transfer it to a canvas, then apply watercolour. Your painting is finished using acrylic mediums. You should have a completed masterpiece, ready to hand, by the end of the workshop!
We will also be using the methods taught in this workshop to paint on an alternate surface. As well, we will create a small mixed media/collage piece of art using some of your watercolours from Day One.
Karin will take you step by step, from preparing your substrate with collage, to finishing your work with a tile-like look. Each day will end with an instructive/constructive critique.
Some supplies included. Questions can be directed to Penny Lamnek, as per below.
