Donna has been interested in art since childhood and, as a teenager in Wetaskiwin, attended University of Alberta Department of Extension Courses and the Banff School of Fine Arts, studying with instructors Professor H. Wolhfarth, Harry Savage, Alfred Schmidt, Paul Braid, Giselle Feldsberg and Doug Barrie. She later taught Beginner Classes for the Department of Extention in Olds, Trochu, Three Hills and St. Paul.
In recent years, Donna has painted almost exclusively in watercolours and has taken courses with Albert Schmidt, Linda Dahl, Brent Heighton, Harold Olsen and Gregg Johnson. She also participated in painting tours to Indonesia (Bali) and Southern Italy with Harry Heine and Dave Maclagan.
Donna has exhibited paintings in juried shows with the Edmonton Branch of the Federation of Canadian Artists, with SWCA and with the ACACA Northern Zone. She also held a solo show in the Elk Point Library in conjunction with a visit by author Grant MacEwan and has participated in numerous community group shows.
Her paintings hang in homes and offices throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Great Britain and the United States. A number of paintings have been purchased for presentation to visiting dignitaries.
Having recently moved back to Edmonton, she is excited about becoming a member of the Edmonton Art Club and working with its members. She has been impressed with the variety of activities undertaken and the quality of work done by the EAC artists.
