Lynda Schultz was born and raised in St. James (Winnipeg), although most of her adult life has been spent raising her family in Alberta. Her art work began with designing and printing award certificates, pen and ink drawings, and following retirement, Lynda took up painting in watercolour. Workshops, books, videos, and tips from club members all contribute to Lynda’s expertise as an artist.
Choosing subjects to paint was easy! Grandchildren are a huge inspiration! Also going through family photographs brought back many memories of special places and special times spent with her children when they were young. What better way to preserve these memories than in a watercolour painting!
Lynda’s work has been popular in Calgary’s Heritage Park. She welcomes commissions, some of which now hang in homes in Winnipeg, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria Beach and as far away as Australia. She was a member of Winnipeg’s Charleswood Art Group and Norman Art Group. Her watercolour painting “Swim Buddies” won the 2005 Wellington West Capital Award for best watercolour painting at the 2005 Red River Exhibition Art Show. While active in Winnipeg Lynda was very successful in art shows such as Brushworks, Artarama, Charleswood Group Art Shows, and Norman Groups Art shows.
Lynda is now back in Edmonton and is a current member of The Edmonton Art Group and S.W.C.A. (Society of Western Canadian Artists).
Catch a Falling Star…..
A sparkle in the sand; a twinkle in an eye,
the reflection in a pond;
an expression on a face, a special person, a special place…..
These are brief, bright, shiny, fleeting moments -- that special bond!
Put it in your Pocket….
My pockets are full! I have to empty them out occasionally. All these special little moments
in time that say “this is you…, this is me!”
My childhood, my children, and now my grandchildren are my inspiration – how simple it is
to see!
If you can relate something in your life - times, places and people reflected in what I paint;
whose image can inspire you to say “this is you…, this is me!
Never let it fade away.
May your memory last a lifetime. May your painting last forever!
If you see yourself, your family, friends, or your special moment in who and what I paint,
and if it makes you smile, then I have been successful. lynda.schultz06@gmail.com |
